Manatee Players hold auditions for SUGAR BABIES and CURTAINS

The Manatee Players will hold auditions for SUGAR BABIES and CURTAINS on Sunday November 1 and Monday November 2. Auditions are at 7 p.m. each evening at the Manatee Players, 102 Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton.

SUGAR BABIES will open on January 7 and run through January 24. The musical is being directed and choreographed by Cory Boyas. Cast size is approximately 20.

CURTAINS will open on February 18 and run until March 7. This musical will be directed and choreographed by Rick Kerby with Rick Bogner as musical director. Cast size is approximately 20.

NOTE: There are no children’s roles in these musicals. Teens and older are encouraged to audition. We need male and female singers and dancers of all ages, acrobats and specialty acts. Older men with comedic talents to fill some non-singing vaudeville comedian-type roles are also needed for SUGAR BABIES.

Those auditioning should prepare a song in their key and be ready for the movement portion of the audition that the director may require. Both shows do require men and women who dance.

Those interested in volunteering backstage on the tech crew should call Kristin Ribble at 941-748-0111 or to help build the set, call Bill Booth at 941-748-0111.

Questions about all auditions should be directed to Rick Kerby at 941-748-0111

For those of you who have taken a Hard Hat Tour...

of the new performing arts center, you'll remember that Janene told you about how the concrete blocks are reinforced with rebar and back filled with cement. Here's a photo of the workers doing just that on the walls of the offices being built on the mezzanine level. If you haven't taken a Hard Hat Tour yet, give us a call at 749-1111 to be added to the list for the next tour!
